Kristen Hardin, LPC
Hi, I’m Kristen
I believe that women deserve extra support when it comes to finding a relationship that feels healthy and whole. Because relationships don’t come with a road map, I decided to build one for my clients. I know what it feels like to want something different and not know where or how to start. One of my favorite parts of this work is watching clients look back on those early days and clearly see the growth, strength, and clarity they’ve built.
I have been practicing as a licensed professional counselor for 15 years. I’ve helped clients with many different backgrounds and life experiences. I have helped clients with many concerns like depression and anxiety and mood disorders. But my passion is guiding women who want to improve self-esteem, self-worth, and heal attachment wounds. I've helped many clients recover from the impact of difficult and unhealthy relationships to find peace and wellness.
I’m a working mom of two boys and I know what it’s like to juggle many responsibilities. I used to hate the questions, “what are your hobbies?” since taking care of people, buying groceries, sitting in pick-up lines, and feeling uninspired aren’t exactly hobbies. Over the last year, I’ve gone from not being able to do much more than hammer a nail in the wall to using everything from drills, sanders, to a detacher for my yard as part of my many DIY projects. I love reading memoirs, thrift shopping, and finding a Taylor Swift lyric for just about any situation.
I look at pictures of myself before I started this journey and while I know her very well, I don’t feel like her anymore. I feel strong and I trust my decisions and intuition. Do I have days when I lose my patience, question whether I’m doing enough, and feel overwhelmed with the smallest task? Absolutely. The goal is not to remove being a human. It’s peace with imperfection.
What it’s like to work with me
You are the expert in your life and my approach is to collaborate, not tell you what to do. I will help you realize the strengths you already have and how they are a foundation to the changes you want to make. There is no “one size fits all” approach. I provide high individualized treatment that is specific and your unique story. I am probably not the therapist you’ve seen in movies. I’ve been told many times that I am easy to talk to, relatable, and not afraid to show that I’m human, too.
We will work together to set your goals of success and increased well-being and I will work along side you to help you get there, with practical feedback and guidance and support all along the way.
I can’t wait to get started- Kristen
